It wasn’t that long ago that some “artists” believed computer art was not “art”.
Over the course of creating “art” as a living, we will eventually come across the Art Critic. The Art Critic can be anyone. Do we consider the source? Are some critics better than others? Creating art goes beyond the art critic.
So when is art, art?
There are many interpretations to this question. Maybe it’s best to leave the “art” out of the piece all together. Art is communication, or better, an interpretation of a communication. It could be a line of poetry, a pencil sketch, or the way we dress. Critics are there to remind us that someone will disagree. Some won’t get it. Some will miss the point. But, some will agree if only yourself. Perhaps, the more who agree, the better art. But then, did the cavemen know they were creating “art”?
Usually the artist, the author knew what they were doing. It was intentional. It told a story. We understood.
