A Trip to the Museum
Growing up just outside of NYC our family often, very often, visited the art museums. I think all of them. This had a big influence on my career as a graphic designer. The ability to draw is essential for the visual designer.
Artists can draw from the subject and the imagination. For example, some of us are familiar with the abstract artist Paul Klee. He traversed expressionism, surrealism, cubism, Bauhaus style, and modern art. Though much of this seems like experimentation, it’s no surprise that he could also draw in a realistic style.
Good designers can draw.
