When is Art, Art?

It could be a line of poetry, a pencil sketch, or the way we dress. Critics remind us that there is a disagreement about what art really is. Some won’t get it. Some will miss the point. But, some will agree that what your looking at, listening to, and experiencing, is in fact art. Perhaps, the more who agree that a particular piece is indeed art, the better art. But then, did the cavemen know they were creating art? It was intentional. It told a story. We understood.

There are many interpretations to this question. Maybe it’s best to leave the “art” out of the piece altogether. Art is communication, and interpretation, perhaps it’s an idea. Or perfection?

Art may just be a consensus that the truth was told. Oh, then there is marketing.
